Outreach
My interest in science communication began during my undergraduate internship at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where I shadowed discussions for upcoming NASA science communication releases. I loved discussing innovative ways to convey science so that anyone could understand it, and share in the excitement of new discoveries.
At the University of Florida, I chaired a public observing night that was hosted by the UF Astronomy Department.
As a graduate student, I have expanded my outreach activities. In 2023, I served as a "Meet the Scientist" panel member for the World Science Festival Queensland, where I spoke to students from primary- to high-school age to educate them about careers in astronomy (and STEM, more broadly) in Australia. I have also appeared multiple times as a guest on the Australia Broadcasting Corporation's Brisbane Radio segment,
Stargazing, to discuss news in all areas of astronomy for the general public.
